Welcome to the Headwater Hills Montessori School Food website.  My name is Tracy Pillsworth and I have been working in the health and fine foods industry for over twenty years.

Since 2014, I have been cooking at Headwater Hills Montessori School and am very honoured to do so.  My love for nutrition and food is reflected in the meals I prepare.  I love cooking for children.  It is challenging, rewarding and a privilege!

Although I am mostly using local, organic food, it is important to me that the price is still affordable.  It is my hope that in comparing these prices against what you would normally spend on groceries plus the time and stress saved by not having to prepare and pack snacks and lunches every day, you view the food program as a positive, beneficial, nutrition based service for you and your family.

If you are a casa, elementary or middle school parent and are interested in joining the food program but have reservations about the food being served and how it may fit your child’s dietary needs and wants, please contact me at tracy@pillsworth.com .  I will do my best to accommodate.

You’re input is important and appreciated!  If you are interested in signing up, but pricing is of concern or if your child has strong food preferences, is on a specific diet or has food allergies or intolerances, let me know so that I can give you the best possible experience that the Food Program at Headwater Hills can offer.

When helping children grow to their full potential, we see that food and nutrition play a monumental role in health, well being and developmental growth.  An appreciation of foods and nutrition and a greater understanding of food through good diets, learning and exploration, can make a difference throughout the children’s whole lives.

Healthy eating and fresh hot lunches are an important part of the daily school experience at Headwater Hills. The students enjoy this special time together and as part of the practical life experience children participate in both the set-up and cleanup of snacks and meals and learn to take responsibility for the cleanliness of their areas.

Please note that almost all food served is GMO free, organic and locally sourced when possible. The meals and snacks will sometimes change due to the foods in season or to try new things.

My approach to food is helping children develop a more positive, health conscious relationship with food.

Regards and bon appétit,
